Beaufort County in eastern North Carolina is rich in history and natural beauty. The Pamlico River, as well as many navigable creeks and the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), runs through the county on its way to the Pamlico Sound and Outer Banks.

Our towns offer the quality of life found in small towns, but have easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway, major interstate highways, airports, shopping and excellent healthcare facilities. There are two hospitals with affiliated medical practices, Beaufort Regional Health System in Washington and Pungo District Hospital Corp. in Belhaven.

Less than an hour away, Greenville NC is the home of East Carolina University and the Brody School of Medicine. Greenville offers "big city" amenities, including music, theatre, shopping, restaurants, Division I college athletics and a top-notch regional medical center.

Washington, the county seat, is located at the fork of the Tar and Pamlico Rivers. The small, waterfront towns of Bath and Belhaven and the inland rural farm areas of Pinetown and Pantego are located on the northeast side of the Pamlico River in Beaufort County NC.  Chocowinity, Blounts Creek and Aurora are towns on the south shore of the Pamlico River.
